Femme Voices ~ Crystal Hefner Pt.2

Here’s an example of power struggles within women, while misogynists play their part in disguise.

Marilyn was out of work with an impounded car when she decided to agree to the topless shoot. She was paid $50, which was exactly enough to get her car back. The agreement was for a calendar, yet the calendar company sold her photos for $500 to Hugh Hefner.

No one knew what Marilyn actually experienced. Although to the public, it looked like she supported this seeming-less toxic cult, while @playboy grew from rags to riches overnight.

It’s jarring how the wrong people in position of power and money, use those who are vulnerable to gain more (even when they die).

From an energetic perspective, we see how this situation can be attracted from having a damaged or unbalanced root chakra, mixed with some unfinished soul-ties. On an unconscious level, this can be a common yet unfortunate cycle we see in todays society.

This is the 3rd out of 4 ‘Femme Voices’ - an extension of the #rootsproject, highlighting women who speak out on stigmas and the polarity within expressing their bodies freely.

Notoriously depicted as a sex symbol and blonde stereotype, @marilynmonroe was an inspiration to many but was marketed as a joke from the hot shots in the entertainment industry.

This lady was very intelligent and hard working. Although she faced many challenging relationships and loss - given her childhood circumstances of abandonment and sent off to many different parental figures, it makes sense.

Despite her short life and struggle with mental health (in which was not very well understood back then), she resiliently worked her way up in the industry and was destined for the success she had accomplished.

She never had solid foundations. Her #roots had been snapped since a child, and we see how that consistently affected her as she had a history of many failed marriages, physical health concerns, and crippling anxiety. Her stability was shaky — so Hollywood wrote her identity.

May her grace and strong heart be what we remember most. Much respect.

The Roots Embodied 🥀

Project Roots reflects our soul signature and the different states of consciousness we may experience throughout our journey.

When the roots are nourished, so is our path. When we understand our foundations, we can consciously choose and EMBODY that way of being. Not just know it, feel it, experience it, or understand it — but live by it, consistently!

If we can’t dig up the roots, the weeds just grow back, often stronger (or rotted). So while there are infinite states to be in, i found these to be relatable and helpful in healing the mind, body, and soul ↓

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗴𝘆: embodies their authentic selves/truth, NOT someone of hierarchy

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: source, divine/ancestral guidance

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻: critic, judge, resentful, self-doubt, all things negative/toxic

At the end of the day, transcending from any limiting beliefs is the goal. These are all just aspects of who were are. We don’t only identify with one.

PONDER THIS ~
What thoughts or frequencies do I allow as my beliefs? Are they nurturing or rotting me? Which ones come and go? Which ones do I ignore? Which ones do I wish stayed?

Your soul is always singing to you ☺️

Style inspiration came from one of @xtinas outfits during her ‘Back To Basics’ music videos. I searched high and low to find something close to it. I’m so glad I decided to make it :) from rags to riches we go!

Our evolution has been striking. Things have shifted since the 1900’s, but it still left a rooted energetic signature into our DNA.

Entertainment reflects the conflict between traditional attitudes and modern way of thinking. While this was somewhat liberating, a woman couldn’t be a sex symbol and a mother at the same time (according to the wisdom of studio heads). There were clauses banning pregnancy in their contracts.

On the flip side, the practice of having to exchange intimate so-called ‘favors’ for career advancement was just as real.

The power struggles here are only scratching the surface of Old Hollywood. Racism and double standards are a whole other topic!

With that being said, the glitz and glamour is coming. Integrating the #roots has its’ layers ❤️

Here’s to the roaring era of ladies who liberated their femininity one less tradition at a time, especially in the entertainment industry. We still do this today but in less obvious ways.

As challenging the norms continue, so shall our expression. One is universal — dance.

It’s also ironic that women didn’t get opportunities in the workforce until men got drafted, yet hired to make war machinery. It’s such a twisted but liberating concept. Anywho, there is a lot of beauty to unravel within the #roots!

Certain noises can bring pain and neuro disruption to the sensitive including but not limited to uncontrollable anxiety, frustration, shame, guilt, OCD, immune-suppressing, relationship strain, isolation, and living in fear.

Misophonia is a neurological disorder and triggers can be auditory or visual. An instant fight or flight response occurs from the limbic and autonomic nervous systems. Hyperacusis is a physical disorder where everyday noises are experienced at a higher volume level. Functioning in a normal environment where one is exposed to potential triggers can be extremely difficult as well as traumatic to the sensitive.
